New Particulars Come to Light About the Location of the Reiner Couple's Bodies

Fresh particulars have surfaced regarding the shocking demises of acclaimed filmmaker Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were located at their residence home on Sunday.

The Alarm

According to a report quoting a family associate, a practitioner arriving for an session was the first to notice something was wrong after not being able to enter the residence. The practitioner then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives nearby.

Upon entering the house, Romy found her father's body. It is said she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Another individual who had accompanied her contacted 911. Following this, first responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Proceedings

Law enforcement have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of murder in the first degree, along with the use of a dangerous weapon, reportedly a knife. He is now detained and denied bail.

Clarifications

The anonymous source also disputed several earlier details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick resided in a separate structure on the property, she did not identify him as a suspect at that moment.

The source also refuted circulated suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "worried" about Nick's conduct in the preceding period. The source claimed the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This refutation includes accounts of alleged "erratic" behavior by Nick at a gathering hosted by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the tragedy. While the source noted they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they maintained that reports of a "major confrontation" between the two were untrue.

Ongoing Inquiry Timeline

As stated by law enforcement sources, the coroner had yet to determine as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Preliminary media reports suggested the state of their bodies suggested they had been dead for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the residence. He was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, said his client had not received medical clearance and would be unable to attend until Wednesday at the earliest.
